Bobinsana Dreaming is a private Plant Spirit Apprenticeship (a mini modern-world dieta) with one of my favorite heart-opening Master Plants, Bobinsana. This is a devotional, transformational, five-day healing container to help you cultivate a deeper relationship with Bobinsana and your dreams. During your apprenticeship/mini-dieta, you are invited to slow down and pause from any excess distractions and gently fast from the hustle and bustle of life wherever possible to attune yourself to this incredible Master Plant.

Bobinsana Dreaming is an effective and inspiring way to reignite trust that, even in our modern world, we can powerfully connect with these ancient plant teachers and receive their healing codes while we live our day-to-day lives. I will send you Bobinsana Tea, and during the apprenticeship/mini-dieta, you are invited to drink daily devotional doses of Bobinsana Tea and work with your dreams. This is an intermediate- to advanced-level container for herbal enthusiasts specifically interested in combining dreamwork with plant spirit work.

Bobinsana (Calliandra Angustufolia), a Master Plant native to the Amazon basin in South America, holds a revered position as a Master Teacher and healer, particularly within the Shipibo tradition where it is known as Sirenita de los Ríos (Mermaid of the Rivers).

The Traditional Dieta:

Learning directly from a Master Plant is an ancient practice of devotion and healing known as a Dieta in South America. When doing a traditional Dieta in the Amazon, you must spend the majority of your time in isolation and abstain from things like media, caffeine, salt, stimulating foods, and sexual energies for a period of time. Some Master Plants are strict and ask the student to maintain some form of the diet for months up to years. This will ensure that the doctoring spirit of their Master Plant has the space to deeply transform, clear, and redirect energies in the student's body/mind/spirit.

It is certainly a potent experience to do a very strict traditional Amazonian Dieta. With the Shipibo-Konibo family I studied with, for example, part of the two-week Dieta I did with Noya Rao was to do 3 rounds of purgatives, 2 rounds of herbal saunas, and a minimum of one day of fasting. The reason again is to detox, clean, and clear our energies so that our Master Plant Teacher knows that we are serious and committed to our own transformation. This work is always done under the care of a respected Shaman, Medicine Man, or Medicine Woman.

The Plant Spirit Apprenticeship:

Before I went to study with the Shipibo I was already several years into holding mini-dietas for myself with Bobinsana, Mugwort, Reishi, Yarrow, Rose, and Tobacco. At that time, I was also studying clinical herbalism at the Berkeley Herbal Center. Through my clinical studies, I realized that my true calling is working slowly and spiritually with plants. I enjoy learning one plant at a time in a devotional way and merging with them fully so they may sing and heal through me.

Medicine people are vast and unique in how they share their understandings of their relationships to plants. I created the Bobinsana Plant Spirit Apprenticeship to provide you with sacred structure, education, and guidance to help deepen and inspire your own unique medicine path with Plant Spirit medicine. May this Apprenticeship give you the empowerment you need to trust your intuition. May you follow, trust, and deepen the potency of your plant path and do this sacred work wholeheartedly.

This is an ancient way of being and learning about plants. May this support your understanding of the old ways while providing inspiration of how to weave the old with the new seamlessly. I live, work, and create medicine on the sacred homelands of the Esselen Tribe of Monterey County. I honor the Esselen people as the original and ongoing stewards of this land, and I offer my deepest respect for their enduring presence, culture, and care of these mountains, waters, and beings.

My work with the plants is guided by the understanding that we each carry an ancient relationship with the Earth. My intention is to support people in reconnecting to their own inner wisdom and to the living world we all belong to.
